Good Guys Deliver a Christmas to Remember with the Help of Block Stars
In the spirit of giving at this time of year, Andrew Muir, Chairman of The Good Guys, and his team of Good Guys, joined forces with well-known The Block contestants leaving deserving families marvelling after they received a very special room makeover.
The Block Glasshouse winners Shannon and Simon, Fans Vs Faves winners Chantelle and Steve and Sky High’s Bec and George teamed up with The Good Guys to deliver three amazing Marvel Room Makeovers with a Marvel Prize Chest worth over $5000 for well deserving families in Victoria and New South Wales.
Bec and George were first off the ranks with a room makeover for a young boy now based in Altona after their family home burned down earlier in the year. Supported solely by his single mother, this young boy couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas present with the words “I love it” repeatedly escaping his mouth upon the surprise reveal.
Chantelle and Steve followed with a room makeover in Coburg for a family of four whose youngest boy has spent the last 12 months in an out of hospital. His older brother has since spent every day after diagnosis by his side supporting him, making this surprise just as sweet for the both brothers.
Finally brothers, Shannon and Simon, completed the third room with a family close to their hearts; their own. Their four nephews shared a single room in their sisters’ house in Coffs Harbour. This opportunity allowed them to renovate, reveal and bask in the wonderment that their new room delivered. With The Avengers covering their walls, toys as far as the eye could see and a brand new gaming corner, xBox included, the boys couldn’t help but squeal with excitement during their reveal.
Mr Muir explained that the act of giving is something that is important to The Good Guys all year around, not just at Christmas time.
“The work of the ex-contestants was extraordinary. They really brought the Marvel prize chest to life in the homes of truly deserving families.”
“At The Good Guys we aim to help out our local community, from exceptional customer service in store, to our Local Giving Program. This was an opportunity to really give back to families with this joyous season upon us and what a marvellous way to do so”, he continued.
The prize chest that formed the decorative elements in each of these rooms was packed to the brim with wall murals, decals, collectables, books, toys and furniture featuring all of the Marvel characters.
The Good Guys have continued this Marvel giveaway throughout their stores with the chance to win a Marvel Prize Chest in each store nationwide. There are 104 to give away in the lead up to Christmas.
